Welcome to Autistic Women!
I'm Jilly, and I created this space for women who, like me, discovered they were autistic later in life, You can read my story by using the search bar — I’d love for you to join me on this journey.
I was diagnosed at 50—just two years ago—and since then I've been on the most incredible journey of self-discovery. After decades of masking, trying to fit in, and wondering why life felt so much harder than it seemed for everyone else, everything finally started to make sense.
I reached a point where I realised I had two choices: keep living by everyone else's expectations, or start living as my authentic self. With a little courage, a lot of soul-searching, and perhaps a gentle nudge from the Universe, I chose me.
Some people might call that selfish. I call it necessary. Life is far too short to spend it pretending to be someone you're not. We're here to live it, not just survive it.
So I sat... and I thought. Then I thought some more. I overthought it (because, well... relatable!), and eventually this community was born.
My hope is that this becomes a place where you feel seen, understood, and completely accepted. A place to learn, laugh, connect with other amazing autistic women, and discover the person you've always been underneath the mask.
I'm so glad you're here. Welcome home.
